Pipe insulation for 1-1/4 in copper tube
This Owens Corning fiberglass tube fits 1-1/4 in pipe and 1-5/8 in copper tube size with a 1-1/2 in wall thickness and 3 ft overall length. The slit design with adhesive flap allows quick wrap-around installation on hot or cold lines. It is plenum rated for use in air-handling spaces.
Slit adhesive flap changes install speed
The factory slit and integrated adhesive flap remove the need for separate tape or mastics during fitting. Installers press the seam shut and the flap bonds the joint in one motion, reducing labor on long runs and retrofit jobs alike.
Fiberglass core with ASJ facing handles 0 to 1000
The tan ASJ jacket resists flame spread index 25 and smoke developed index 50 while delivering R-value 11.9 across the full temperature range. Rigid tube form holds shape on vertical risers and horizontal mains without sagging or crushing.

Questions about this item
Will the adhesive flap on the ASJ facing need replacing after a few years?
The slit tube uses an adhesive flap for closure; if the seal loosens over time you can reseal it with compatible foil tape.
At what temperature does the fiberglass insulation start to degrade?
The product is rated for continuous use up to 1,000 °F, so degradation only becomes a concern above that limit.
How hot does the pipe surface get when the insulation runs at its 1,000 °F rating all day?
With an R-value of 11.9 and 1 1/2 in wall thickness, the outer surface stays significantly cooler than the pipe, reducing burn risk and heat loss.
