Questions about this item

How do I set up the OXO 7-piece stainless steel cutlery set for first use?

Unpack the seven pieces, wash each item with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry before placing them in the storage block or drawer. The step people skip is the initial wash, which removes manufacturing residues.

What maintenance will the black stainless steel blades and plastic handles need over time?

Hand-wash the knives to preserve the black finish; avoid abrasive pads that scratch the coating. Plastic handles are dishwasher-safe on the top rack, but prolonged high heat can dull the handle texture.

Which limit appears first when the knives are used daily on hard cutting boards?

The 9-inch blade edges will dull before the handles show wear; regular honing keeps the edge aligned, and professional sharpening restores it when honing no longer helps.
