Radio Replacement Interface

The PAC OS2X is a radio replacement interface designed for select General Motors Class II vehicles. It allows installation of an aftermarket head unit while keeping factory OnStar functionality and all safety warning chimes. The module also retains the Bose amplified audio system when equipped and supports rear seat entertainment and rear seat audio controls. Installers gain a plug-in connection for a steering wheel interface module sold separately.

Class II Databus Constraints

The interface maintains a healthy status on the vehicle's Class II databus and provides a 10 amp 12 volt accessory output for the new radio. Firmware updates are performed in the field via USB to ensure ongoing compatibility. A chime module with four level adjustability is included to reproduce factory warning sounds through the aftermarket system. Navigation radio ready design supports factory navigation features where applicable.

24 Pin Harness Compatibility

Plug-in installation is limited to vehicles equipped with the 24 pin factory harness, so vehicles with a different connector cannot use this interface directly. OnStar retention and chime generation cover the primary factory features, yet the module does not add features the vehicle never had, such as satellite radio or Bluetooth streaming. The steering wheel control input requires a separate SWI module, leaving that function unavailable without the extra purchase.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the OS2X or another PAC interface for my GM vehicle?

Select the OS2X when you need OnStar retention and chime generation on a Class 2 GM platform with a 24-pin harness; other PAC models target different databus types or feature sets.

What does the 10 amp 12 volt accessory output actually power in my car?

It supplies up to 10 amps at 12 volts for aftermarket accessories such as amplifiers, processors or lighting while the ignition is on.

How does the 24-pin plug-in harness limit installation time?

The 24-pin connector matches the factory wiring so the interface plugs in directly without splicing, reducing install time to a single connection.
