What the PAC USB-GM1 does

The PAC USB-GM1 is an OEM USB port retention cable designed for select General Motors and Chrysler vehicles. It allows owners to keep the factory dash-mounted USB port working after replacing the original radio with an aftermarket unit. The cable bridges the connection between the vehicle’s existing USB port and the new head unit’s USB input.

How the cable changes the install

Without this adapter the factory USB port becomes inactive once the OEM radio is removed. The cable plugs into the back of the original port and routes the signal to the aftermarket radio’s USB connection, restoring media playback and charging functions. No additional modules or software configuration are required for the connection to work.

Limits of the retained USB connection

The retained port operates only within the capabilities of the aftermarket radio’s USB implementation.
