Safety Knife with Adjustable Blade Depths

The Pacific Handy Cutter S5R is a retractable utility knife built for controlled cutting tasks. Its green plastic handle is shaped for a secure grip and includes an integrated safety guard. Three fixed blade-depth settings let the user match the cut to the material, while a built-in tape notch splits packing tape cleanly. The knife weighs 0.12 and is supplied new.

Suited for Packing and Light Trimming

Workers opening corrugated boxes, slicing plastic bags or cutting packing tape will find the preset depths and safety point practical. The tool is not intended for heavy industrial slicing, precision craft work or any job that requires a freely adjustable blade or a metal-bodied construction. Buyers needing a fixed-blade knife or a model with quick-change blades should consider other options.

Three Fixed Blade-Depth Settings

The defining specification is the three preset cutting depths that lock the blade at shallow, medium or deep positions. This mechanism decides whether the knife matches the material thickness you handle daily. If your workflow demands continuous depth adjustment or a different locking system, this model will not fit.

Questions about this item

How often will I need to replace the fixed blade on the S5R?

The blade is fixed at three depths and not designed for user replacement; when it dulls the entire knife is replaced.

What stops the S5R from cutting deeper than the set depth during a long session?

The three fixed blade depths physically limit the cut; the blade cannot extend beyond the selected notch.

Does the green plastic handle get hot or slippery after hours of continuous cutting?

The ergonomic plastic handle is shaped for grip and does not generate heat; no thermal or slip issues are reported.
