Compact rugged tablet for field workers

The Panasonic FZ-G1 Toughpad is a 10.1-inch Windows tablet built to MIL-STD-810G and IP65 standards for use in harsh environments. It runs Windows 8 Pro on a 2.60GHz Intel Core i7 processor with 8GB of DDR3L 1600 memory and a 256GB SSD. The daylight-readable display offers 1920 x 1200 resolution with 10-point gloved multi-touch and a digitizer pen. Integrated 4G LTE, GPS, smartcard reader, magstripe and barcode scanner support mobile data capture.

Suited for mobile professionals needing durable

This device suits field technicians, logistics staff and public-safety workers who require a fully rugged Windows tablet with integrated barcode, magstripe and smartcard readers. Buyers who need a fanless silent design or a larger screen for office-based document work should look elsewhere. The single USB port and single-core processor also limit users who depend on multiple simultaneous peripherals or heavy multitasking workloads.

Single-core 2.60GHz Core i7 dictates workload fit

The processor is a single-core part running at 2.60GHz, so performance scales with single-threaded applications rather than parallel tasks. This characteristic determines whether the tablet can handle your specific field software or whether a multi-core alternative is required.
