Prime lens for Micro Four Thirds

The Panasonic H-X025 is a 25mm f/1.4 prime lens designed for LUMIX G series cameras. It delivers a 50mm equivalent focal length suited to everyday photography and travel work. The bright maximum aperture supports low-light shooting and shallow depth of field for subject isolation.

Manual focus operation

This lens uses manual focus only, so the photographer turns the focus ring to achieve sharpness. There is no autofocus motor, which simplifies the mechanical design but requires practice for fast-moving subjects. Focus peaking or magnification on the camera body helps confirm accurate focus.

Fixed focal length constraints

As a prime, the lens offers a single 25mm perspective and cannot zoom. The constant f/1.4 aperture maintains exposure consistency throughout the focus range. Buyers needing variable framing or autofocus convenience will find this lens does not meet those requirements.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the lens is delivering the 50 mm equivalent field of view on my Micro Four Thirds body?

Mount it on a LUMIX G series camera and check the EXIF data; the focal length will read 25 mm, which yields the 50 mm equivalent angle of view on the Micro Four Thirds sensor.

What comes in the box with the H-X025 and what must I purchase separately?

The lens ships with front and rear caps and a lens hood; filters, a pouch or case, and any adapter rings are not included and must be bought separately.

Which version of the 25 mm f/1.4 should I choose for a LUMIX G camera?

The H-X025 is the current Leica DG Summilux 25 mm f/1.4 ASPH model designed for LUMIX G Micro Four Thirds bodies; no other version of this focal length and aperture is listed for this mount.
