Micro Four Thirds Macro Lens

This Panasonic Lumix G Leica DG Macro-Elmarit 45mm f/2.8 lens is built for the Micro Four Thirds system. It suits photographers who want a 90mm equivalent focal length for close-up work and portrait sessions. The aspherical and ED elements aim to keep distortion and chromatic aberration low across the frame.

Build and Mounting

The lens barrel carries a 46mm filter thread so you can attach circular polarisers or protective glass without a step-up ring. A petal hood is included to shade the front element from stray light. The bundled pouch, cap tether and cleaning accessories help keep the glass clean during field use.

Compatibility Check

Verify that your camera body uses the Micro Four Thirds mount before ordering. The lens provides an equivalent 90mm field of view on that format; it will not deliver the same framing on larger sensors. Ensure your workflow can accommodate the 5.91 inch minimum focusing distance for the macro magnification you need.

Questions about this item

What Micro Four Thirds mount standard does the 45mm f/2.8 lens use, and what 35mm-equivalent focal length does it provide?

The lens mounts natively on any Micro Four Thirds camera body and delivers a 90mm equivalent field of view on that format.

What filter thread size and minimum focus distance must I accommodate when mounting accessories or shooting close-ups?

The barrel takes 46mm filters and focuses as close as 5.91 inches (15 cm) from the subject.

How is the lens attached to the camera, and which step do users often miss when fitting the supplied hood?

Align the white mount index on the lens barrel with the matching mark on the camera, twist until it clicks, then snap the hood onto the front bayonet and rotate until its own index locks — many forget that final hood lock step.
