Compact Micro Four Thirds zoom lens

The Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. is a retractable power-zoom lens built for the Micro Four Thirds system. Its electric zoom lever gives smooth focal-length changes for both stills and video, while the 95 g barrel collapses to 26.8 mm for everyday carry. The bundle adds a 37 mm filter kit, case, cleaning kit, cap tether and cloth so the lens is ready to shoot immediately.

Versatile 14-42 mm range with aspherical correction

The zoom covers a 28-84 mm equivalent field of view, handling wide landscapes at 14 mm and tighter portraits at 42 mm. Nine elements in eight groups include four aspherical lenses that suppress distortion and keep the barrel short. Maximum aperture runs from f/3.5 at the wide end to f/5.6 at the long end, so low-light work may need higher ISO or a tripod. The Nano Surface Coating cuts ghosting and flare for cleaner contrast.

Micro Four Thirds mount with power O.I.S. built in

The lens mounts directly on any Micro Four Thirds body and uses the camera’s power for its optical image stabilisation and motorised zoom. No separate stabilisation switch or external power is required. Manual focus is available via the focus lever on the barrel for precise control. Buyers needing a wider maximum aperture, longer telephoto reach or a larger filter thread will need a different lens.

Questions about this item

Will the 14-42mm zoom work on my older Micro Four Thirds body that only supports mechanical zoom lenses?

The lens uses electric-powered zoom via a lever on the barrel, so it operates smoothly on any Micro Four Thirds camera that can supply power to the lens mount.

How can I confirm the Power O.I.S. stabilisation is active after mounting the lens?

When the camera is turned on, the stabiliser engages automatically; you will see a steadier live view and the O.I.S. icon appears on the display or viewfinder.

Does the bundle include a 37mm filter kit and a dedicated lens case, or must I buy them separately?

The bundle already contains a 37mm filter kit, a Slinger lens case, cleaning kit, lens cap tether and cleaning cloth — no extra purchase needed.
