Semi-rugged 14-inch laptop

The Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55 MK2 is a semi-rugged 14-inch laptop built for field professionals who need a device that survives vibration, dust and temperature swings. It ships new with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and includes an infrared 1080p webcam for Windows Hello login.

Sustained workload behaviour

The Intel Core i5-1145G7 vPro processor and 16GB DDR4 memory maintain consistent throughput during long shifts without the thermal throttling seen in ultra-thin consumer chassis. The 512GB OPAL SSD keeps encryption overhead low so file access stays steady across extended sessions.

Deciding specification: 4G LTE EM7455

Integrated 4G LTE via the EM7455 modem is the single feature that determines suitability; buyers who need always-on cellular data in remote sites get it here, while teams relying solely on Wi-Fi or wired LAN can choose a lighter configuration without this hardware.

Questions about this item

Does the Core i5-1145G7 with 16GB DDR4 run hot or loud during all-day workloads?

The 11th Gen Core i5-1145G7 and 16GB DDR4 are built for sustained business use; the semi-rugged chassis manages thermals without excessive fan noise during typical office or field tasks.

What must I already own to activate the EM7455 4G LTE modem?

An active nano-SIM with a compatible data plan is required; the laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and drivers pre-installed so the modem works once the SIM is inserted.

Can I keep using my older USB-A peripherals and external monitors with this FZ-55 MK2?

Yes — the laptop retains full-size USB-A ports and HDMI output, so existing keyboards, mice, drives and legacy displays connect directly without adapters.
