Panduit Releasable Cable Tie

The Panduit ERT2M-C20 is a black releasable cable tie designed for temporary or adjustable bundling. It suits installers and technicians who need to open and reclose ties without cutting them. The pull-tab release mechanism allows quick changes in wiring layouts or maintenance tasks.

8.5 inch length with 2.35 inch bundle capacity

At an actual length of 8.5 in and a maximum bundle diameter of 2.35 in, it comfortably secures small to medium wire groups. The 18 lb tensile strength holds firm under normal tension but will not support heavy cables or high-vibration loads. Width is .5 in and thickness is .09 in.

Upgrades from single-use nylon ties

This tie replaces disposable nylon ties when bundles must be reopened for adds, moves or troubleshooting. The jump is worth it for panels that see frequent rework, but not for permanent installations where a standard tie is faster and cheaper. UV and weather resistance extends outdoor life.

Questions about this item

Will the 8.5 in releasable tie wrap around the same 2.35 in bundles I secure with older Panduit straps?

Yes, the nominal maximum bundle diameter is 2 5/16 in (2.35 in), so it matches the capacity of existing ties rated for that size.

How can I confirm the pull-tab release is functioning correctly after installation?

Press the release tab; the strap should open smoothly without cutting, and the 18 lb tensile strength holds until you deliberately disengage it.

Does the pack include mounting bases or tools, or just the black polyurethane strap?

Only the single 8.5 in black releasable cable tie is supplied; mounting bases and installation tools are sold separately.
