Mounting adapter kit secures dual Sharkee antennas to the roof ribs of a 2020 Ford Explorer using a silicone rubber boot and conductive adhesive pads
The Panorama Antennas SAB-324-2 kit adapts dual Sharkee antennas to the roof rib profile of the 2020 Ford Explorer and Interceptor. It comprises a black silicone rubber boot and extended adhesive conductive pads that maintain ground-plane coupling. Installers can fit the boot to the antenna and secure it to the vehicle without specialised tools. The kit suits fleet and public-safety vehicles needing a factory-look installation.
The adapter is a passive mechanical component with no active electronics, so it generates no heat, draws no current and produces no audible noise. Its silicone rubber construction remains stable across the temperature range experienced on a vehicle roof. The conductive pads maintain electrical continuity without adding resistance that could affect antenna performance. No power supply or thermal management is required.
The moulded boot seals the mounting hole against water ingress and conforms to the roof rib contours for a clean aesthetic finish. Extended adhesive conductive pads ensure reliable capacitive coupling to the vehicle ground plane, preserving the antenna's radiation pattern. Both parts are supplied in the kit, so no additional sealing compounds or shims are needed. The result is a secure, weatherproof fit that matches the vehicle profile.

Fit the silicone rubber boot onto the antenna base, apply the extended adhesive conductive pads for ground plane coupling, then press the assembly onto the roof rib peak so the boot seals the mounting hole and follows the rib contour.
Inspect the boot periodically for cracks or UV degradation and check that the conductive pads remain firmly bonded; replace either component if sealing or ground coupling is compromised.
The silicone rubber boot may gradually lose elasticity and sealing ability under constant vibration, temperature cycling and UV exposure, eventually requiring replacement to maintain a weatherproof mount.
