Compact industrial panel PC

The 12.1 inch all-in-one system combines an Intel Core i3 fourth-generation processor at 1.90 GHz with 4 GB of DDR3L memory and a 64 GB mSATA SSD. Its fanless aluminium chassis carries an IP65-rated front panel and a high-temperature five-wire resistive touchscreen. The unit ships with Windows 10 Pro installed and supports embedded, wall, desktop or cantilever mounting.

Interface and expansion limits

Video output is provided through one HDMI and one VGA port. Networking uses a single LAN connection. Two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports handle peripherals, while two COM ports serve legacy serial devices. Internal expansion is limited to one full-size Mini PCIe slot with a SIM socket; storage can be expanded with one 2.5 inch SATA drive alongside the mSATA SSD. The DDR3L SODIMM slot accepts up to 8 GB total memory.

Deciding specification

The resistive touchscreen is rated for 200 million touches and operates across a 0 to 50 °C range with the fitted SSD. This durability and temperature envelope determines whether the panel PC suits continuous industrial use or requires a different touch technology.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 4 GB DDR3L model or upgrade to the 8 GB maximum?

The unit ships with 4 GB DDR3L 1333/1600 in a single SODIMM slot and supports up to 8 GB total; adding a second 4 GB module gives headroom for multi-tasking without changing the existing stick.

How does the 1.90 GHz Core i3 4th Gen with HD Graphics 4400 perform in a fanless industrial chassis?

The 1.90 GHz dual-core i3 and integrated HD 4400 run passively cooled in the aluminium housing, delivering steady performance for HMI, SCADA and light edge workloads within the 0 – 50 °C operating range.

What does the 12 V DC input with 100 – 240 V AC adapter mean for installation?

The panel PC accepts 12 V DC directly and includes a 100 – 240 V AC adapter, so it can be wired into a 12 V vehicle or cabinet supply or plugged into mains power without extra converters.
