What it is

This pack contains two USB 3.0 extension cables, each three feet long with a Type A male connector on one end and a Type A female port on the other. They are designed to lengthen the reach of existing USB cables connected to computers, laptops or Macs. The cables support SuperSpeed data rates up to 5 Gbps and are backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. Shielded copper construction helps protect signals from electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference.

Who it suits and who it does not

The cables suit anyone needing to extend a standard USB Type A link for peripherals such as flash drives, hard drives, printers, scanners, cameras, VR headsets or game consoles. They are not for users who require a Micro-USB, USB-C or any other connector type, nor for situations where a longer run than three feet is necessary. Buyers wanting a single cable rather than a pair should look elsewhere.

The deciding specification

The critical detail is the USB 3.0 Type A male-to-female interface combined with a three-foot length and 5 Gbps maximum throughput. If your device uses a different USB connector or you need a longer extension, this product will not fit the requirement.
