Compact 4K-to-1080p capture dongle

The PBASK Z51 is a pocket-sized HDMI-to-USB video capture device built for streamers, educators and remote workers who need to bring a 4K HDMI source into a computer at 1080p without installing drivers or carrying a power brick. It draws power directly from the USB port and works on Windows, Android, Linux and Mac OS out of the box.

4K input down-scaled to 1080p output

The single specification that decides fit is the fixed conversion path: the HDMI male input accepts signals up to 4K resolution, while the USB female output delivers a maximum of 1080p to the host. Any workflow that requires capturing or passing through 4K natively will not be satisfied by this device.

Handles live streaming and recording at 1080p

It comfortably handles live broadcasting, gameplay recording and video conferencing at 1080p with popular software such as OBS, VLC and Amcap. The aluminium alloy body operates reliably from minus 20 to 65 degrees Celsius at 5 to 95 percent humidity. It runs out of headroom when a production demands 4K capture, high-frame-rate passthrough or multiple simultaneous inputs.

Questions about this item

Does the 4K HDMI input actually record in 4K or is it downscaled?

The HDMI input accepts a 4K signal but the USB output captures at 1080p resolution, so the recorded video is downscaled.

What does the UVC-compliant USB interface mean for frame rate and driver support?

The device uses a standard UVC USB video interface, so it works driver-free on Windows, Android, Linux and Mac OS with software such as OBS, VLC and Amcap.

Will the 55.5 x 23.3 x 10.8 mm aluminum body fit behind a wall-mounted monitor or in a laptop bag?

At 55.5 x 23.3 x 10.8 mm the capture card is smaller than a USB thumb drive and slides into tight spaces or a pocket without external power.
