  • Retractable trolley handle and rubber over-moulded handles for easy transport

Rugged Studio Case for Photographers

The Pelican 1560SC Protector Studio Case is built for photographers and videographers who transport cameras, lenses and a 15-17" laptop in harsh environments. Its watertight, crushproof and dustproof shell meets IP67 and US/NATO mil-spec standards. A padded removable sleeve secures the computer while three accessory pouches organise smaller items. The case has been protecting sensitive equipment since 1976.

Sustained Protection in Transit

Strong polyurethane wheels with stainless steel bearings roll smoothly over rough terrain during long location moves. A retractable extension trolley handle reduces fatigue when the case is fully loaded. The automatic purge valve equalises internal pressure after altitude or temperature changes without letting water or dust enter. Double-throw latches stay locked under repeated impact and vibration.

Carry-On Size Constraint

The 1560 dimensions may qualify as carry-on luggage on some airlines, but buyers who need guaranteed overhead-bin clearance on every carrier should verify exact measurements before travel. The lid organizer adds internal storage without changing the external footprint. Users requiring larger capacity for cinema rigs or multiple bodies will need a bigger case.

Questions about this item

Does the 1560SC stay watertight and dustproof after hours of rolling over rough ground?

The case meets IP67 and military-grade specs, so its silicone O-ring seal and automatic purge valve keep water and dust out even after prolonged transport over harsh terrain.

What gear must I already have to use the padded laptop sleeve and three accessory pouches?

You need a 15 to 17 inch laptop for the removable sleeve and your own accessories to fill the three pouches; the case itself supplies the dividers and lid organiser.

Will my older Pelican case accessories fit inside the 1560SC alongside the new dividers?

The customisable divider set and 1560MP lid organiser are designed to work with existing Pelican pouches and gear, letting you mix older accessories with the new layout.
