Pelican 1472 Shoulder Strap

The Pelican 1472 shoulder strap attaches to compatible Pelican cases to provide a hands-free carrying option. It is designed for photographers and equipment owners who need to transport cases 1470 and 1490 over longer distances. The strap connects directly to the case hardware for secure transport.

Carry comfort and mobility

Adding this strap changes how the case moves with the user by shifting weight from the hand to the shoulder. It enables hands-free movement through airports, studios or outdoor locations while keeping the case stable. The accessory integrates with existing attachment points without modification.

Case compatibility limits

The strap fits Pelican case models 1470 and 1490 only and will not connect to other case sizes or brands. Users with different Pelican models or third-party cases cannot use this accessory. Buyers needing straps for other case dimensions must source a different model.

Questions about this item

Will the 1472 strap need replacement if the quick-release clips wear out?

The 1472 strap uses metal hardware and reinforced stitching designed for long-term use; if a clip or webbing section ever fails, the entire strap is replaced as a single unit.

What limits comfort when carrying a loaded 1470 or 1490 case all day with the 1472 strap?

The 1472 strap has a fixed-width shoulder pad and non-adjustable length, so the main comfort limit is the inability to redistribute weight across the shoulder during extended carry.

Does the 1472 strap add noticeable heat or weight when the case runs equipment all day?

The 1472 strap adds minimal weight and no insulation; it sits outside the case so it does not affect internal temperatures or power draw of equipment inside the 1470 or 1490.
