14 QT Personal Cooler

The Pelican 14 QT Personal Cooler in Sage Gray is a compact, hard-sided cooler built for day trips and weekend outings. It suits solo campers, beach-goers and picnic planners who need reliable cold storage without the bulk of a large chest.

Installation and common issues

Setup is immediate: lift the press-and-pull latches, load contents and close the lid. The freezer-grade gasket seats itself, but debris on the sealing surface can break the seal, so wipe the rim before latching. Over-molded handle and tie-down slots simplify securing the cooler in a vehicle or boat.

Capacity and limits

True 20 quart internal volume holds 15 cans or 4 wine bottles with ice. Two inches of polyurethane insulation plus the gasket deliver multi-day ice retention in moderate heat. The 14 QT footprint limits bulk food packs or upright two-litre bottles, so buyers needing more storage should consider a larger chest.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the 14QT cooler is sealing properly after loading it?

Close the lid and engage both press & pull latches; the freezer-grade gasket should compress evenly with no gaps, and the anti-shear hinge keeps the lid aligned for a consistent seal.

Which accessories are included with the 14QT cooler and what must I add?

The cooler comes with four self-draining molded-in cup holders, an over-molded carry handle with rubber grip, a reinforced lock hasp with built-in stainless steel bottle opener, molded-in tie-down slots and non-skid rubber feet; ice, beverages and optional dividers are not included.

Should I choose the 14QT model or a larger capacity for a weekend trip?

The 14QT cooler holds 15 cans or 4 wine bottles in its true 20 quart internal volume, making it suitable for day trips or a weekend for one to two people; larger groups will need a bigger model.
