Two-port SATA 6Gbps expansion

The PENGQIAO PCIe SATA card adds two SATA 3.0 ports through a single PCI Express x1 slot using the ASM1061 controller. It suits desktop or server builders who need extra internal drive connections for SSDs or hard disks.

Check slot and operating system

Verify the motherboard has a free PCI Express x1, x2, x4, x8 or x16 slot. The card supports Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, Server 2003, Mac and Linux with AHCI 1.0 or IDE modes.

Low-profile bracket and hot-swap support

A low-profile bracket is included for slim chassis installations. The board complies with SATA 3.0 and PCI Express 2.0 specifications, runs at 6.0, 3.0 or 1.5 Gbps, and allows hot-swap drive changes without a reboot.

Questions about this item

Does the PENGQIAO PCIe SATA card ship with everything needed to install it in a low-profile chassis?

The package includes the expansion card, a low-profile bracket and one mounting screw so it can be fitted directly into a slimline case without extra parts.

Which SATA revision should I match my drives to for the 6.0 Gbps headline speed?

Use SATA 3.0 drives; the ASM1061 controller runs at 6.0 Gbps with SATA 3.0 devices and falls back to 3.0 Gbps or 1.5 Gbps for older SATA 2.0 and 1.0 drives.

What does the 6.0 Gbps figure mean once the card is installed in a PCIe x1 slot?

The ASM1061 chip provides two SATA 3.0 ports each capable of 6.0 Gbps, and the PCIe 2.0 x1 link supplies enough bandwidth for both ports to operate at that rate simultaneously.
