This Perle SFP transceiver provides a single RJ-45 copper port and an ST duplex fibre port for network links up to 1.24 mile. It supports 10/100/1000Base-T and 1000Base-LX standards, allowing administrators to connect copper infrastructure to single-mode fibre. The module is designed for use inside compatible high-density Perle Media Converter Chassis units.

Chassis integration and link extension

The transceiver fits into a high-density Perle Media Converter Chassis, which supplies power and management for multiple modules in a rack-mount form factor. By converting copper Ethernet to fibre, it extends the reach of existing network segments beyond standard twisted-pair limits. This frees up copper switch ports and preserves the service life of non-fibre equipment already deployed in the network.

Passive operation within the chassis

The module draws power from the host chassis and has no onboard fan, so it adds no audible noise of its own.
