Perle STS4-D portable audio

Four-port RS232 terminal server

The Perle IOLAN STS4-D is a desktop or wall-mountable terminal server that converts four serial RS232 ports to a single 10/100Base-TX Fast Ethernet link. TrueSerial technology preserves device protocol integrity across the network. It is built for engineers and project managers who need a cost-effective way to connect legacy serial equipment to modern LAN infrastructure. RoHS and WEEE compliance confirms environmentally responsible manufacturing.

Desktop or wall mounting with one Ethernet uplink

The unit measures 1.1 inches high, 4.4 inches wide and 3.2 inches deep, fitting on a bench, a shelf or a DIN-rail bracket. A single RJ-45 port handles the 10/100Base-TX uplink over twisted-pair cabling, so no additional network interfaces are required. Power over Ethernet support is available on compatible models, which can eliminate the need for a local power supply at the device location. The compact form factor frees rack space for other gear.

Suited for small serial-to-Ethernet deployments

This model serves sites that need exactly four RS232 connections bridged to Ethernet without the cost or complexity of larger port-count servers. Buyers who need more than four serial ports, fibre uplink options or gigabit Ethernet speeds should evaluate other products in the range. Operations that require wireless connectivity or integrated switching will also need a different solution.
