Holiday Pet Ornament

This porcelain Christmas ornament features a Flat Coated Retriever wearing a Santa hat and a banner reading "Dear Santa, Define Naughty." It showcases watercolor artwork by artist Tamara Burnett. The piece measures approximately three inches in diameter and is one-eighth of an inch thick. It is designed to hang on a gold-colored thread.

Artwork and Presentation

The bundled gold thread allows immediate hanging on a tree or display hook without extra hardware. Tamara Burnett's watercolor design provides a detailed breed-specific portrait rather than a generic dog image. The "Define Naughty" slogan adds a humorous, conversational element to the decoration. The porcelain construction offers a rigid, glossy finish distinct from fabric or plastic alternatives.

Installation and Handling

Hanging the ornament requires only looping the attached gold thread over a branch or nail. The porcelain material is brittle and will chip or shatter if dropped onto a hard surface. The thin one-eighth-inch profile makes the disc flexible under pressure, so it should be packed carefully when stored. The gold thread is thin and may snag on rough bark or sharp edges.

Questions about this item

Does the porcelain ornament need any special care to prevent chipping or fading over time?

The ornament is made of porcelain with a gold-coloured hanging thread. Handle it gently to avoid chips or cracks and store it in a padded box when not displayed. The watercolour artwork is sealed under the surface, so normal indoor display will not cause fading.

What is the first limit you hit if the ornament is left hanging in a sunny window all year?

At roughly 3 inches across and only 1/8 inch thick, the thin porcelain can heat up in direct sunlight. Prolonged UV exposure may eventually dull the red banner and watercolour details, so a shaded spot on the tree or wall is best.

Does the ornament generate any heat or noise when displayed continuously?

No. It is a passive porcelain decoration with no electronics, batteries or moving parts. It produces zero heat, makes no sound and draws no power.
