240 mm liquid cooler with T30 fans

The Phanteks Glacier One 240T30 Gen 2 uses a 240 mm aluminium radiator paired with two 120 mm T30-120 fans. It mounts on Intel LGA 115x, 1200 and 1700 sockets as well as AMD AM4 and AM5 platforms. The package suits builders who want a ready-to-run all-in-one loop with addressable RGB lighting on the pump cap.

Hybrid mode runs at 9.8 dBA

In Hybrid mode the fans spin at 1200 RPM and move 40.3 CFM while producing only 9.8 dBA. Performance mode raises speed to 2000 RPM for 67.0 CFM at 27.3 dBA. The pump measures 94 by 93 by 52 mm and the radiator is 280 by 120 by 30 mm, fitting standard dual-fan mounting points.

Advanced mode reaches 3000 RPM and 39.7 dBA

Under sustained load the cooler can run in Advanced mode where both fans hit 3000 RPM and deliver 100.9 CFM at 39.7 dBA. The Gen 8 Asetek platform maintains consistent flow through the aluminium radiator. Builders needing more than two 120 mm fan slots or a larger radiator surface should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the pump on an AM5 socket, and which bracket step is often missed?

Use the AM4/AM5 bracket included with the cooler, secure the back-plate first, then tighten the four spring-loaded screws in a cross pattern — the step often missed is confirming the back-plate orientation before lowering the pump.

What part will need replacement first under normal use?

The two 120 mm T30-120 fans are the only moving parts; expect to replace them after several years when bearing noise rises above the 9.8 dBA hybrid-mode baseline.

At what coolant temperature does the radiator hit its thermal limit during a long render?

The 280 × 120 × 30 mm aluminium radiator with two 120 mm fans dissipates roughly 300 W before coolant temperature climbs past 50 °C, which is the practical sustained-use ceiling.
