Phanteks SK120 PWM 120mm case fan

The Phanteks SK120 PWM is a 120mm case fan built for chassis cooling. It suits builders who want a single fan that can run quietly at idle and ramp up when the system load rises. The nine-blade design targets higher airflow than standard blades. Buyers needing a fan controller in the box or addressable RGB lighting should look elsewhere.

4-pin PWM control range 500 to 1500 RPM

Speed is managed through a standard 4-pin PWM header, giving a range of 500 to 1500 RPM with a tolerance of plus five percent and minus ten percent. The motherboard or fan hub defines the curve, so the fan cannot set its own minimum or maximum speeds. At full speed it delivers 50 CFM at 30.3 dB(A). Systems without a PWM header lose automatic speed control.

Rifle bearing and rubber dampeners for vibration

The fan uses a rifle bearing combined with eight included rubber dampening washers to reduce vibration transfer to the case. The rigid frame adds structural stiffness to support the bearing. Installers who prefer traditional sleeve or ball bearings without extra mounting hardware may find the rubber washer step unnecessary.

Questions about this item

The SK PWM line comes in 120 mm and 140 mm — which one fits my case?

Check your chassis specifications for 120 mm or 140 mm mounting points; this model is the 120 mm version and includes screws plus rubber dampening washers for either orientation.

What does the 50 CFM airflow rating mean once the fan is installed in a real system?

At full speed the fan moves 50 CFM through an unrestricted path; inside a case the actual flow will be lower depending on filter density, grille restriction and other components in the airflow path.

The fan uses a 4-pin PWM connector — what speed range does that actually allow?

The 4-pin PWM header lets the motherboard vary the fan between 500 and 1500 RPM, so the system can run it quietly at idle and ramp up to maximum airflow under load.
