Smart outdoor lantern for Hue homes

The Philips Hue 802058 Lucca lantern delivers 800 lumen of white light for porches, patios or garden paths. It requires a Philips Hue bridge to join the system, so it suits households that already run Hue lighting or are ready to add the hub. Voice control works with Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant once the bridge is online.

Weatherproof wall-mount with plug-and-play wiring

The lantern housing is built from weatherproof metal rated for year-round outdoor exposure. It mounts directly to an exterior wall and connects to mains power without extra drivers, so installation stays simple for DIY fitters. Zigbee mesh lets the signal hop up to 60 ft between outdoor nodes, though metal surfaces can weaken the link.

Low heat, silent running and 25 000-hour life

LED technology keeps the fixture cool to the touch and completely silent during evening operation. Power draw stays minimal across the dimming range, and the rated 25 000-hour lifespan means years of dusk-to-dawn cycles before a replacement is needed. The bridge handles scheduling and geofencing, so the light only runs when useful.

Questions about this item

Does the 802058 Lucca lantern use the Zigbee protocol via the Hue bridge, and what practical range does that give?

The lantern connects to a Philips Hue bridge using Zigbee; the first outdoor light should sit within 30 ft of the bridge or nearest Hue bulb, and you can extend the mesh up to 60 ft between outdoor lights.

What mounting hardware and wall type does the Lucca lantern require?

It is a wall-mounted, plug-and-play fixture designed for standard exterior walls near a front or back door; no special brackets or masonry anchors are mentioned.

How do I pair the 802058 lantern with the Hue app, and what step is often missed?

Power the lantern, open the Hue app, search for new lights while standing within 30 ft of the bridge, then assign the lantern to a room; the step users skip is ensuring the bridge firmware is current before pairing.
