High-intensity discharge lamp

The Philips MSD Platinum 25R is a 550-watt high-intensity discharge lamp built for professional entertainment fixtures. It suits rental houses, touring productions and venues that need a single lamp type for beam, spot and wash functions. Its compact arc design allows manufacturers to build smaller, lighter moving heads without sacrificing output.

Platinum technology benefits

Philips Platinum technology delivers a very short arc that raises beam intensity and perceived brightness. The compact system gives fixture designers freedom to create smaller housings while maintaining optimal working distance. These traits enable true 3-in-1 fixtures that switch between beam, spot and wash modes with one lamp.

Output and service life

The lamp produces up to 26,000 lumens at a cool-white 7800 Kelvin colour temperature with a colour rendering index of 81. Rated life is 1,000 hours, after which output and colour stability decline. It is not suited for installations requiring continuous long-term operation without scheduled relamping.
