Pump inlet conversion

This Phobya adaptor replaces the original inlet on Eheim 1046/48 pumps so that any G1/4" fitting can be used. It bridges the G3/8" pump thread to the smaller G1/4" standard found on most custom-loop components. The part is sold new under model number 52088 and ships as a single unit.

Sustained sealing behaviour

The brass body with black nickel finish resists corrosion during continuous coolant circulation. An internal O-ring provides the seal, but the manufacturer warns that inserting the adaptor dry can twist the ring and compromise the joint. Moistening the O-ring before assembly is required for reliable long-term operation.

Build quality and daily use

Robust brass construction handles normal tightening torque without stripping the fine G3/8" and G1/4" threads. The black nickel coating adds wear resistance for repeated disassembly during maintenance. Installers should keep a drop of coolant or distilled water handy to lubricate the O-ring each time the fitting is seated.
