Print technology and connectivity

The Phomemo P12 is a portable label printer that uses inkless thermal and thermal-transfer printing at 203 DPI. It connects via Bluetooth and supports 12 mm wide media rolls up to 4 metres long. The unit weighs 180 grams and measures 4.09 in x 3.52 in x 2.7 in.

Home organisers, teachers and light-duty labelling

Suits users who want cable tags, spice jars, classroom name labels or occasional iron-on clothing labels without buying ink or toner. Not for buyers who need industrial throughput, wide-format shipping labels or direct USB and wired network connections.

Media width and print method

The printer only accepts 12 mm wide labels and ribbons and relies exclusively on thermal or thermal-transfer media; it cannot print on standard adhesive paper sheets or wider continuous rolls.

Questions about this item

Does the 180 g printer get warm or noisy during a full day of label printing?

The thermal print head only activates while a label is feeding, so the body stays cool and the mechanism is quiet enough for a desk or kitchen counter.

What must I already have to start printing with the Bluetooth interface?

A smartphone or tablet running the companion app is required to design and send label jobs to the P12.

Will my existing 12 mm thermal rolls work in this machine?

The printer accepts 12 mm wide rolls up to 4 m long, matching the size used by many earlier Phomemo models.
