What It Is
The Pigtronix Constellator is an all-analog delay pedal built around a pair of new-production MN3005 bucket-brigade chips. It delivers up to 600ms of echo with adjustable modulation, covering slapback, doubler tones and long, saturated repeats for guitarists who want authentic analog character.
Build Integration
The pedal runs on standard 9VDC centre-negative power and fits a typical pedalboard signal chain. Its +15V internal rails and 4096-stage BBDs provide high headroom without extra voltage requirements. The compact enclosure leaves room for other effects while the true-bypass switching keeps the dry signal untouched when the effect is off.
Controls & Modulation
Five knobs and a push-switch Feel toggle give hands-on shaping: Time, Mix, Mod depth, Repeats and a two-mode LFO selector. Pushing the Feel switch engages chorus modulation; leaving it out selects vibrato. Maxing the Repeats knob pushes the circuit into self-oscillation that can be pitched by turning the Time knob, adding performance-grade texture.

Questions about this item
How much headroom does the MN3005 circuit provide before the repeats start to saturate?
The +15 V power rails on the MN3005 chips give the highest available headroom in an analog delay, so repeats stay clean until you push the Feedback knob toward self-oscillation.
What kind of noise or heat should I expect if I leave this pedal on a pedalboard all day?
It draws only standard 9 V DC current with no digital clock, so it runs cool and adds no audible hiss beyond the natural tape-like saturation of the BBD chips.
What power supply do I need to have already to run the Constellator?
A standard centre-negative 9 V DC supply (the same type used by most pedals) is all that is required; no special voltage or adapter is needed.
