100MHz 7000V Differential Probe

The Pintech PT-670 is a high-voltage differential probe designed for oscilloscope users who need to measure floating signals up to 7000V peak-to-peak. It provides selectable 100X or 1000X attenuation ratios with a typical accuracy of ±2%. The probe connects to any oscilloscope via a standard BNC interface and operates from an external adapter or internal battery.

Replaces single-ended high-voltage probes

A differential probe is required when neither test point is at ground potential, such as motor-drive or power-inverter measurements. The PT-670 upgrades from single-ended probes by rejecting common-mode voltage up to 2450V RMS while preserving the differential signal. The jump is worth it when ground-referenced measurements would create short circuits or safety hazards.

BNC interface and bandwidth limits

The BNC output presents a 50Ω termination requirement at the oscilloscope input. At the 100X setting the usable bandwidth is DC to 40MHz, while the 1000X setting extends to DC-100MHz with a 3.5ns rise time. Common-mode rejection falls from greater than 80dB at 50Hz to greater than 60dB at 20kHz, so very high-frequency common-mode signals will not be fully rejected.
