AC/DC current probe up to 300 A
The Pintech PT-740 is a clamp-on current probe that measures both AC and DC currents up to 300 A with a bandwidth of 150 kHz. It connects to any oscilloscope through a BNC output cable and provides two selectable sensitivity ranges of 10 mV/A and 1 mV/A.
Suited for power and automotive testing.
Engineers measuring power circuits, motor drives or automotive currents will find the dual ranges and 600 V rms working voltage useful. The 150 kHz bandwidth and 2.3 s rise time make it unsuitable for users who need to capture fast switching transients or signals above 150 kHz.
Dual-range sensitivity selects measurement
The probe offers two fixed output ratios — 10 mV/A for currents up to 30 A and 1 mV/A for currents up to 300 A — and the chosen ratio directly determines the smallest current change the oscilloscope can resolve.

Questions about this item
What oscilloscope input impedance does the PT-740's BNC output require for accurate readings?
The probe is designed for a load impedance of 1 MΩ and 100 pF, which matches standard oscilloscope inputs.
Will the 30 mm jaw opening accommodate the same busbars I measure with my existing clamp?
The jaw accepts one 30 mm cable, two 24 mm cables, or a 2 × 31.5 × 10 mm busbar.
How can I confirm the PT-740 is powered and not overloaded after connecting it?
A green LED indicates sufficient battery voltage above 6.5 V, while a red LED signals an overload condition.
