Purpose-built touch display

The Planar Helium PCT2485 is a 24 inch LED LCD monitor designed for point of sale environments. It delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution in a 16:9 widescreen format. Ten simultaneous touch points enable responsive multi-user interaction. The panel operates at a refresh rate of 56 to 75 Hz with 60 Hz recommended for stable performance.

Single-cable touch integration

Touch input travels over a standard USB link that is HID compliant, so Windows 7, 8 and 10 recognise it without extra drivers. An integrated HD webcam and microphone handle video communication directly from the monitor. A built-in USB hub lets peripherals such as barcode scanners or receipt printers connect to the display, reducing cable runs to the host PC.

Ten-point capacity with practical limits

The ten-point touch layer comfortably handles multi-finger gestures and concurrent operator input at the counter. Beyond ten simultaneous contacts the controller cannot distinguish additional touches, so kiosk designs that expect higher concurrency will need a different solution. The 60 Hz recommended refresh rate is adequate for typical POS workflows but not suited to high-motion content.
