9-port desktop PoE+ switch

The PLANET GSD-908HP is an unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch with eight PoE+ ports and one standard uplink port. It suits small offices or home networks that need to power cameras, access points or VoIP phones without separate injectors.

120-watt PoE budget with per-port limits

The switch delivers up to 120 watts total across ports one to eight. Each port supplies up to 15.4 watts for 802.3af devices or up to 30 watts for 802.3at devices. It powers up to eight af-class endpoints or four at-class endpoints simultaneously, with automatic PD detection and circuit protection between ports.

100-metre remote power feeding over copper

PoE reaches powered devices up to 100 metres over standard RJ-45 cabling. The switch supports 9K jumbo frames at 1000Mbps full duplex, 192 KB packet buffer and a 4K MAC address table. It operates at 10/100/1000Mbps with auto-negotiation, auto MDI/MDI-X and IEEE 802.3x flow control.

Questions about this item

How long before the 120-watt PoE budget needs to be reallocated if I add more 802.3at devices?

The 120-watt budget supports up to four 802.3at devices at 30 watts each; adding a fifth would exceed the limit and require device removal or a higher-capacity switch.

Which port constraint appears first when all eight PoE ports run at 30 watts continuously?

The 120-watt total PoE budget is reached at four ports drawing 30 watts, so the power budget limits sustained full-power use before any port-level restriction.

Does the metal desktop chassis stay cool and quiet when the 120-watt PoE load runs all day?

The metal housing passively dissipates heat from the 120-watt PoE budget and switching engine; no fan is fitted, so operation remains silent under continuous load.
