Industrial managed switch with eight PoE+ Gigabit RJ45 ports, two extra Gigabit RJ45 ports and two SFP slots for fibre uplinks
The PLANET IGS-5225-8P2T2S is a Layer 2+ managed Ethernet switch built for industrial networks. It provides eight Gigabit RJ45 ports with IEEE 802.3at PoE+ injection plus two additional Gigabit RJ45 ports and two 100/1000BASE-X SFP slots for fibre uplinks. The unit operates from dual 48–56 V DC inputs and is rated for -40 to 75 °C environments.
The switch mounts on a standard DIN rail and measures 5.98 x 2.83 x 4.21 inches, weighing 2.18 lbs. An RJ45 console port gives direct CLI access for initial configuration before the network is live. Common issues include forgetting that PoE+ output requires the DC source to exceed 51 V, and neglecting to enable the ERPS ring or Spanning Tree settings that prevent loops in redundant topologies.
Verify that your DC supply can deliver the 252.3 W maximum draw when all eight PoE+ ports are fully loaded. Confirm that any SFP transceivers you plan to use are 100/1000BASE-X compatible and support the required distance, as the slots auto-detect the module type. Ensure the cabinet or enclosure provides adequate airflow for the wide operating temperature range.

Check the front-panel LEDs: green Power 1 and Power 2 show dual supply is active, the orange PoE-in-Use LEDs on the eight PoE+ ports confirm powered devices are drawing current, and green LNK/ACT on every RJ45 and SFP slot verifies live links.
The unit includes the managed switch chassis, console cable for CLI access and mounting hardware; SFP transceivers for the two 100/1000X slots and a 48–56 V DC power supply (above 51 V for PoE+ budget) are not included.
The slots auto-detect 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps SFP modules; select 100BASE-FX optics for legacy fibre runs or 1000BASE-SX/LX for gigabit uplinks depending on the distance and fibre type you are deploying.
