RJ45 Strain Relief Pack

This 50-piece clamshell supplies clear strain-relief boots built for Platinum Tools EZ-RJ45 cat6 plugs. Installers and home-network builders use them to lock the snag-proof relief onto each connector, creating a single assembly that will not pull off during routing or patching. The pack suits anyone terminating bulk cable for entertainment centres or structured wiring projects. It is not for jobs requiring cat5e-specific reliefs or non-EZ-RJ45 connector styles.

Crimp-Compatible Performance

Each boot is engineered to crimp together with the EZ-RJ45 plug so the primary strain relief relaxes slightly after termination, preventing over-compression of the cable pairs. That controlled stress reduction helps the link meet cat6 performance targets. The extended tab covers the plug’s locking clip, keeping patch cords snag-free in dense panels. The design does not compensate for cables that exceed cat6 diameter tolerances or for plugs from other manufacturers.

Termination Workflow Integration

The clear finish lets technicians verify wire order before and after crimping without removing the boot. Because the relief becomes integral with the plug, no separate strain-relief sleeve is needed, freeing bench space and reducing component count. The clamshell packaging keeps the 50 units organised for repeat jobs. Builders needing colour-coded boots for circuit identification or reliefs compatible with shielded plugs will need a different product.

Questions about this item

Will these clear strain reliefs fit the Cat6 cables I already have terminated with standard RJ45 plugs?

These strain reliefs are designed specifically to be crimped with EZ-RJ45 Cat6 plugs, not standard RJ45 connectors. They form an integral assembly with the plug's primary strain relief during the crimp process, so they cannot be added to cables already terminated with conventional plugs.

How can I verify the strain relief is properly seated after crimping the EZ-RJ45 Cat6 plug?

After crimping, the primary strain relief of the plug relaxes slightly, locking the snag-proof strain relief in place so it will not pull off. The extended tab should cover the plug's locking tab, creating a single integral assembly that prevents cable pairs from being over-compressed.

Does the 50-pack clamshell include the EZ-RJ45 Cat6 plugs or just the clear strain reliefs?

The pack contains 50 clear strain reliefs only. The EZ-RJ45 Cat6 plugs must be purchased separately, as these reliefs are designed to be crimped together with the plugs in one operation.
