Dual 4K Docking Station

The Plugable UD-6950Z connects two external monitors at up to 3840x2160 @ 60Hz each using DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI 2.0. It adds wired Gigabit Ethernet, a 3.5mm combination audio jack, and six USB 3.0 ports through a single USB 3.0 or USB-C host connection. Designed for Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 7, macOS 10.14+, and ChromeOS 100+ users needing expanded productivity I/O.

Installation Notes

Windows installs the required DisplayLink driver automatically via Windows Update, while macOS requires a manual download. The dock includes both USB 3.0 and USB-C host cables for flexible connectivity. It does not charge the host computer, so the original power supply must remain connected. Linux is not supported and the dock cannot be mixed with non-DisplayLink USB video adapters.

Pre-Purchase Checks

Verify each monitor supports 3840x2160 @ 60Hz over DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI 2.0 to achieve the maximum dual 4K 60Hz configuration. Confirm the host runs a supported Windows, macOS, or ChromeOS version and that you can install software, as the DisplayLink driver is mandatory. The dock does not support HDCP, so encrypted streaming content will not play, and DisplayPort MST daisy-chaining is not available.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm both monitors are running at 3840x2160 @ 60Hz after connecting the UD-6950Z?

Open Windows Display Settings or macOS System Settings and verify each external monitor shows 3840x2160 resolution at 60Hz refresh rate; the DisplayLink Manager tray icon also reports active resolution and frame rate for each output.

What cables and accessories ship with the UD-6950Z, and what must I provide myself?

The box includes the dock, a USB 3.0 Type-A cable, a USB-C cable, and a power adapter; you must supply your own HDMI or DisplayPort video cables and any USB peripherals you wish to connect.

Which video ports should I use on the UD-6950Z to drive two 4K displays at 60Hz?

Use either the two HDMI 2.0 ports or the two DisplayPort 1.2 ports — each pair supports 3840x2160 @ 60Hz; mixing one HDMI and one DisplayPort is also supported at the same resolution and refresh rate.
