Refurbished Founders Edition GTX 980 Ti

This manufacturer-refurbished PNY card delivers the GeForce GTX 980 Ti GPU with 6GB of GDDR5 memory. PNY tests each unit for full function before shipping it in an anti-static bag inside a plain box. The single-fan cooler handles the 260W thermal design power. No accessories are included.

Upgrade from older GTX cards

The GTX 980 Ti replaces earlier 900 series models when higher frame rates at 1440p are needed. The jump is worth it if your current GPU cannot sustain playable performance in newer titles. Buyers who want more VRAM than 6GB or a modern architecture should consider other options.

6GB VRAM headroom for 1440p gaming

Six gigabytes of GDDR5 comfortably handles high texture settings at 1440p in most games from the card's era. Memory capacity runs out with heavy mod lists, 4K textures or multi-monitor surround setups. The 260W TDP also requires a power supply with sufficient PCIe connectors.

Questions about this item

Does the PNY GeForce GTX 980 Ti Founders Edition 6GB fit a case with room for a single-fan cooler?

The card uses a single-fan cooler so it occupies a standard dual-slot footprint; verify your chassis clearance for a dual-slot card before ordering.

What power connection does the VCGGTX980T6XPB-CG need and what mistake do builders make?

The 260W TDP requires two 8-pin PCIe power connectors; the common error is plugging in only one or using a daisy-chain cable instead of separate runs from the PSU.

Will the thermal paste on this refurbished GTX 980 Ti need replacing soon?

PNY tests every refurbished unit for full function but does not refresh the paste; if temperatures run high after installation, plan to re-paste the GPU die yourself.
