Mini Hook Test Lead Kit

This Pomona Electronics kit contains two mini hook test leads finished in black and red for quick polarity identification. Each lead measures 24 inches in length and terminates in a banana plug for connection to standard instrument sockets. The set is rated for 300 Vrms and 5 amps maximum, making it suitable for general bench and automotive measurements.

300 Vrms / 5 A Rating

The voltage and current rating is the specification that determines whether these leads match your measurement task. Circuits exceeding 300 Vrms or 5 amps require leads with higher ratings. Buyers who need higher voltage or current capacity should select a different test lead set.

Questions about this item

What does the 300 Vrms rating mean when I am probing a live circuit?

The 300 Vrms rating is the maximum voltage the leads are designed to handle safely; do not use them on circuits that exceed this limit.

How does the 5 Amp maximum current rating affect the measurements I can make?

The 5 Amp limit caps the current the leads can carry continuously; exceeding it risks overheating the wires or damaging the mini-hook clips.
