Pomona 72938 BNC Adapter

The Pomona Electronics 72938 adapter converts a single BNC female connector into two 4 mm banana jacks. It provides a direct mechanical link for test leads in laboratory and bench environments. The body is rated for CAT I 500 V operation.

Suited for single-channel splitting

Technicians who need to duplicate a BNC signal onto twin banana plugs will find this adapter convenient. Users requiring shielded coaxial continuity, impedance matching or higher voltage categories should select a different connector.

Handles basic signal distribution

The adapter comfortably carries low-power measurement signals within its CAT I 500 V rating. It offers no specified frequency range, impedance control or temperature limits, so high-frequency or harsh-environment applications exceed its defined capabilities.

Questions about this item

What voltage rating must the test equipment meet to use this 500 V CAT I adapter safely?

The adapter is rated for CAT I 500 V, so the connected instrument and circuit must not exceed that measurement-category voltage.

Will the dual 4 mm banana jacks accept the shrouded plugs on my existing leads?

Yes, the jacks are standard 4 mm banana sockets compatible with both shrouded and unshrouded plugs.

How can I confirm the BNC-to-banana connection is solid after hooking it up?

Verify continuity between the BNC centre pin and the red jack, and between the BNC shell and the black jack, with a multimeter.
