Complete 39-Piece Household Tool Kit

The Porter-Cable 39-piece set delivers a full range of essential hand tools for minor repairs and DIY tasks around the home. It includes a claw hammer, slip-joint pliers, utility knife, scissors, tape measure, bit driver, precision screwdrivers and a comprehensive selection of screwdriver bits and metric hex keys. Everything fits inside a compact purple plastic storage case measuring 12.4 in x 7.4 in x 3.08 in with a carrying handle for portability.

Upgrade From Scattered Basics

This kit replaces a mismatched collection of individual tools with a single organised solution that covers the most common fastening and measuring needs. The jump is worth it when you want heat-treated, chrome-plated tools stored in a dedicated case with 13 pockets and three drawers so the right bit or driver is always at hand. Buyers who need specialised automotive or heavy construction tools will find this general-purpose assortment insufficient.

Sustained DIY Reliability

Heat treatment and chrome plating provide corrosion resistance that holds up through repeated use across multiple projects. The manual-lift case keeps contents secure during transport and allows quick access to the tape measure, hammer or precision drivers without rummaging. The compact footprint stores easily on a shelf or in a cupboard, ready for the next repair job.

Questions about this item

What are the assembled dimensions of the plastic storage case?

The plastic storage case measures 12.4 inches long, 7.4 inches wide, and 3.08 inches high when assembled.

How are the tools arranged inside the case, and what step do people often miss?

The case contains 13 pockets across its shelves; a common mistake is not seating each tool fully into its pocket, which prevents the lid from closing properly.

Which components in the 39-piece set are most likely to need replacement first?

The utility snap-off knife blades and the screwdriver bits — especially the smaller Phillips and Torx sizes — wear out fastest with regular use.
