Secure Medicine Storage
This Porter-Cable lock box provides secure storage for medications and valuables with a keyed lock and two included keys. The aluminum alloy frame and ABS boards create a sturdy enclosure that resists moisture and daily wear. A removable plastic tray organizes smaller items while the lower compartment fits larger bottles. It suits households needing child-safe medication storage or travelers wanting a portable safe.
Thermal Noise Power
The solid aluminum and ABS construction seals tightly with locking buckles to keep contents dry in humid conditions. No electronic components are present, so the unit operates silently and draws no power. The materials withstand normal temperature variations encountered during indoor use or outdoor transport. The rust-proof PEEK handle remains cool to the touch in sunlight.
Build Fit Needs
External dimensions of 12 by 7.6 by 7.8 inches and a weight of 2.75 pounds allow the box to fit in backpacks, vehicle consoles, or cabinet shelves. The adjustable shoulder strap and silver-plated handle free up hands during transport. The four-pack configuration supplies multiple units for separate locations such as home, office, and travel bags. Buyers needing fire-rated protection or electronic keypad entry should consider other solutions.

Questions about this item
How is the Porter-Cable 6312-12inch box mounted, and what step is often missed?
The unit is a portable tool storage box with a PEEK handle and adjustable strap; no mounting hardware is included, so the step buyers miss is assuming it can be wall-mounted without adding their own brackets.
What maintenance or replacement will the lock mechanism need over time?
The keyed lock uses two included keys; keep the cylinder lubricated with graphite powder and store a spare key separately, as lost keys require a locksmith rather than a factory replacement program.
What capacity limit appears first when the box is fully loaded and carried daily?
The 2.75 lb empty weight and single-bucket cavity mean the handle and strap become the limiting factor once contents approach several kilograms, stressing the PEEK handle before the aluminum frame yields.
