Essential Home Tool Kit

This 40-piece Porter-Cable set supplies the basic hand tools needed for everyday household tasks such as furniture assembly, picture hanging and general repairs. The kit includes a claw hammer, slip-joint pliers, tape measure, utility knife, scissors, bit driver, extension, 20 screwdriver bits, eight hex keys and four precision screwdrivers. It is suited to DIY beginners, students or anyone wanting a compact, ready-to-go collection for light-duty maintenance around the home.

Organised Storage and Durable Finish

All components fit inside the supplied plastic toolbox case, keeping items sorted and protected between uses. Each tool is heat-treated and chrome-plated to resist corrosion and meets ANSI quality standards, while the manufacturer backs the set with a lifetime warranty. The silver finish and small 7.7978 cm x 17.6022 cm x 31.6992 cm footprint make it easy to store on a shelf or in a cupboard.

Light-Duty Use Only

Weighing 1.47 kilograms, the kit is designed for occasional home projects rather than continuous trade workloads. Buyers who need impact-rated sockets, a powered driver or a larger assortment of fastening hardware will find the selection limited. The 4-pack configuration refers to the packaging quantity and does not expand the tool count beyond the 40 pieces listed.

Questions about this item

How do I organise the 40-piece kit inside the plastic case so the claw hammer and slip-joint pliers stay put during transport?

Place the claw hammer and slip-joint pliers in the moulded recesses at the bottom of the case, then slot the 20 screwdriver bits, 8 hex keys and 4 precision screwdrivers into the lid pockets before closing the latch.

Which components will need replacement first with regular household use?

The utility-knife blades and tape-measure spring wear out before the heat-treated, chrome-plated screwdrivers, hex keys or pliers.

At what point does the 1.47 kg case become awkward to carry one-handed up a ladder?

The weight is noticeable after a few metres of vertical climbing; most users set the case on a shelf and carry only the needed tool.
