On-camera monitoring and control

The Portkeys LH7P is a 7-inch touchscreen monitor built for camera operators who need bright, accurate framing and wireless camera control on set. It delivers Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 1000 cd/m² brightness for clear visibility in daylight conditions.

Brightness headroom and video formats

At 1000 nits the screen stays readable outdoors without a hood, while the 1000:1 contrast ratio supports reliable exposure judgement. The HDMI port accepts DCI 4K at 24 fps or UHD 4K at 30 fps, so the monitor handles common cinema and broadcast frame rates but does not support higher 4K frame rates.

Mounting, power and daily workflow

A supplied MH-2 mount secures the unit to camera rigs or cold shoes, and the bundle includes two NP-F770 4400mAh batteries with compact chargers for extended runtime. Wireless Bluetooth control works with select Sony and Blackmagic Design cameras, while a USB flash drive enables custom 3D LUT loading and the kit adds screen protectors and anti-static cleaning wipes for field maintenance.

Questions about this item

Will the 1920×1080 HDMI signal pass through to my older recorder that only accepts 1080p24?

The monitor outputs up to DCI 4K24 or UHD 4K30 via HDMI; it does not down-convert, so a recorder limited to 1080p24 will not receive a compatible signal.

How can I verify the 1000 nit brightness and touch focus are active after powering on?

Open the on-screen histogram and peaking tools; the histogram will reflect the high-brightness output and the touch-to-focus indicator responds instantly when you tap the screen.

Does the kit include the HDMI cable and both NP-F770 batteries, or must I buy them separately?

The bundle ships with one HDMI Type A cable, two NP-F770 4400mAh batteries, two compact chargers, a micro-USB flash drive, cleaning wipes, screen protectors, a mount and a storage box.
