Outdoor Power Extension

This 25 ft SJTW extension cord delivers 15 A at 125 V AC through a single NEMA 5-15R outlet. The 14 AWG three-conductor cable is built for outdoor job sites, workshops and yard equipment that need reliable mains power away from a wall socket.

Thermal and Electrical Performance

The PVC jacket is rated from -40 °F to 167 °F so the cord stays flexible in freezing weather and resists heat under continuous 1,875 W loads. A built-in power indicator lights when the circuit is live, and the round 0.35 in. diameter jacket resists abrasion, oil and moisture during normal use.

Build Integration

The straight NEMA 5-15P plug fits standard North American receptacles without blocking adjacent sockets. One grounded outlet frees up a single tool or appliance, while the orange-and-black-stripe jacket remains visible across driveways or lawns. Not suited for runs that require multiple outlets or higher ampacity than 15 A.

Questions about this item

How do I plug the NEMA 5-15P plug into a standard 125 V outlet so the 14 AWG SJTW cord reaches the full 25 ft without kinking?

Insert the straight NEMA 5-15P plug firmly until the blades seat fully; then uncoil the round 0.35 in. PVC jacket completely before use so the cord lies flat and the 15 A rating is maintained.

When should I replace the orange-with-black-stripe jacket if it shows cracking after repeated outdoor exposure?

Inspect the PVC jacket each season; if the insulation becomes brittle, cracked or the lighted indicator fails, retire the cord because the 14/3 conductors can no longer handle 1,875 W safely.

At what continuous load does the 14 AWG conductor hit its temperature limit first during sustained use?

Running the full 15 A (1,875 W) at 125 V AC will bring the conductors to the 167 °F upper rating fastest; reduce the load or improve airflow to stay below that thermal ceiling.
