Balance Chamber for P902 P905 P910 Series

The Powers 900-031A Balance Chamber is a manual faucet component designed for hot and cold water systems. It connects via a 1/2 inch NPT sweat connection. This part is intended for use with Series P902 P905 and P910 shower systems. Buyers needing a different connection type or compatibility with other valve series cannot use this chamber.

Sweat Connection Installation Notes

Installation requires sweat soldering to 1/2 inch NPT piping which demands plumbing skill and proper tools. The most common issue is insufficient heat or flux leading to leaky joints. Overheating can damage internal seals not rated for prolonged high temperature. Ensure the water supply is fully shut off and lines are drained before starting work.

Sustained Temperature Regulation

Under continuous flow the chamber maintains mixed water temperature by balancing pressure fluctuations between hot and cold supplies. It reacts to pressure drops rather than temperature spikes so rapid demand changes are smoothed out. The brass body resists scaling in hard water areas. This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the balance chamber is functioning correctly after installation?

Confirm consistent hot and cold water mixing at the shower outlet with no sudden temperature fluctuations during use.

What components are included with the 900-031A balance chamber and what must be sourced separately?

The chamber itself is supplied; sweat-type piping, P902, P905 or P910 series trim and any required valves are purchased separately.

Which series — P902, P905 or P910 — should I select for my installation?

Choose the series that matches your existing valve body; the balance chamber fits all three but trim and cartridge differ by series.
