USB-C OTG cable for phones and tablets

The PPA International cable connects a USB-C phone or tablet to standard USB-A flash drives, card readers, keyboards or mice. It supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 with data rates up to 5 Gb/s and carries up to 3 A for charging. The 15 cm length keeps the link short and tidy.

Reversible male USB-C to female USB-A

A single reversible USB-C plug inserts either way into the host device, while the USB-A port accepts existing peripherals without extra adapters. Backwards compatibility with USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 ensures older devices still work. Thunderbolt 3 support extends the cable's usefulness to compatible hosts.

Sustained 5 Gb/s transfers with 3 A power

Under continuous use the link maintains USB 3.1 Gen 1 bandwidth for large file moves while delivering up to 3 A for attached devices. The short 15 cm run minimises signal loss during extended sessions. Buyers needing longer reach or multiple ports should consider a hub instead.

Questions about this item

How long is the cable and will it restrict placement of a flash drive or keyboard?

The cable measures 15 cm (0.5 ft) so connected devices sit very close to the host port.

Does the adapter get warm or draw noticeable power when a drive is transferring at 5 Gb/s for hours?

It is a passive 15 cm cable with no active electronics so heat and extra power draw are negligible.

What must the host device provide for this OTG cable to function?

The host needs a USB-C port that supports USB On-The-Go and can supply up to 3 A for attached peripherals.
