12-Core DDR5 Platform for Streamers and Creators

The 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700K brings 12 cores and a 3.6 GHz base clock suited to gaming while streaming or editing video. Buyers who only need basic office work or web browsing will find the specification far above their requirements.

RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6 Graphics Card

The installed NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 provides 8 GB of GDDR6 memory on a PCIe 4.0 interface for high-refresh 1440p gaming. Buyers who need more VRAM for heavy 4K textures or professional render workloads should look at a card with a larger frame buffer.

Questions about this item

Does the PCIe 4.0 slot on the ASUS Z690-A motherboard cap the RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6 to Gen 4 speeds?

Yes, the RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6 connects through a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot on the ASUS Z690-A board, so the card runs at Gen 4 bandwidth.

What case clearance does the Montech X1 mid-tower need for the Thermaltake TH120 ARGB 120mm radiator?

The Montech X1 supports a 120mm radiator at the rear exhaust, which is where the TH120 ARGB Snow Edition mounts.

How is the 16GB DDR5-5200 memory installed on the Z690-A board, and which slot pair is often missed?

The kit is 8GBx2; populate the two grey slots (A2 and B2) first so the board trains at 5200MHz.
