Product Purpose

Prime-Line 161797-1 is a bi-fold closet track kit designed for a 72 in. door opening. It supplies the complete hardware set required to hang two double-door bi-fold panels in a residential closet.

Who This Suits

Homeowners or installers fitting bi-fold doors where each panel weighs up to 30 pounds will find the pre-cut 71-3/4 in. track and non-mortise hinges simplify the job. Buyers needing hardware for heavier panels, bypass door configurations, or pocket door systems should look at other solutions.

Deciding Specification

The 71-3/4 in. net track length is cut specifically for a 72 in. rough opening, so confirming that measurement matches the installation space determines whether this kit fits the project.

Questions about this item

What door panels must I already own to use the 161797-1 bi-fold track kit?

You need two double-door bi-fold panels, each weighing no more than 30 pounds, because the kit is designed for that exact configuration.

Will the 71-3/4 in. track fit the 72 in. opening where my old by-pass doors used to hang?

Yes, the pre-cut track is made for a 72 in. door opening and provides full-width access unlike the half-access of by-pass hardware.

How can I confirm the non-mortise hinges are installed correctly after setup?

The hinges should sit flush on the jamb surfaces and vertical door stiles, and the panels should fold open smoothly across the full 72 in. opening.
