Four-pack ribbon cartridges

This pack contains four standard-life ribbon cartridges manufactured by Printronix for its line-matrix printers. Each cartridge is an original OEM part supplied new and ready to install. The four-pack format suits operations that want a small reserve of consumables without committing to larger bulk orders.

Moderate-volume dot-matrix users

The cartridges fit the Printronix P7005, P7010, P7015, P7215, P7220, P8005, P8010, P8205, P8210, P8215 and P8220 models. Buyers who need extended-life ribbons for higher print volumes should look at alternative cartridge types. Environments that have migrated to laser or inkjet output will not use these ribbons.

Standard-life yield rating

The ribbons are rated for standard life, which the manufacturer states delivers up to 20 percent lower consumable cost per page compared with the previous generation spool ribbon. That yield figure is the primary specification to match against your expected print volume.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 255049-402 cartridge ribbon into my P7000-series printer, and what step is often missed?

Open the printer cover, slide the cartridge into the guide rails until it clicks, then close the cover; the step often missed is forgetting to remove the protective seal on the ribbon before closing the cover.

What maintenance or replacement will the 255049-402 ribbon pack need after extended printing?

Each cartridge is a single-use ribbon; when print quality fades or the printer signals end-of-ribbon, replace the entire cartridge — no separate spool or ink refill is required.

What limit appears first during continuous high-volume printing with the 255049-402 on a P8000-series machine?

The ribbon length determines the limit; once the standard-life cartridge is exhausted, printing stops until a fresh cartridge from the four-pack is installed.
