  • Blocks UV haze for clearer daylight shots
  • 99% light transmission preserves image quality
  • Multi-coated glass reduces flare and ghosting
  • Slim 3.2mm profile prevents vignetting on wide angles
  • Protects front lens element from dust and scratches

What this filter does

The ProOPTIC 62mm Multi Coated UV Slim Filter blocks ultraviolet light that can add a bluish cast to daylight images while protecting the front element of the lens. Its multi-coated glass delivers 99% light transmission and reduces flare and ghosting caused by internal reflections.

Who it suits and who it does not

Photographers who want a protective filter that maintains contrast and colour accuracy will benefit from the slim 3.2mm profile, which helps avoid vignetting on wide-angle lenses. Shooters who need circular polarisation, neutral density or infrared effects should choose a different filter type.

Behaviour under sustained use

The hardened multi-coated surface resists cleaning marks and environmental residue during long shooting sessions, keeping transmission stable over time. The thin brass ring threads smoothly and resists binding even after repeated mounting and removal in changing conditions.

Questions about this item

Does my lens need a 62mm thread for this filter to fit?

Yes, the filter mounts on any lens with a 62mm front thread.

Will the 3.2mm slim frame avoid vignetting on my older wide-angle lens?

The low-profile 3.2mm ring is designed to prevent vignetting even on wider focal lengths.

How can I confirm the 99% light transmission is working after I attach it?

Compare a test shot with and without the filter; exposure and colour should stay virtually identical.
